Halloween has always been my favorite holiday since I was a kid. And yet in the past 8 years of being a photographer I have never done a Halloween shoot!!!! How is that possible? So this year I broke out of the cage and went for it.
We shot this at a huge cemetery in SLC. We started shooting when the sun was almost all the way down because I wanted the light to be that eerie dark bluish color that usually us photographers try to avoid. I took forever scoping out the perfect spot. Something old and crumbly looking with some big mossy trees ideally. It was perfect. Everyone who passed us was probably scared out of their minds because we were kind of hidden back in a corner and from the street it would have looked like two witches brewing something over someones grave hahaha.
My story for the shoot was this- A woman was murdered by her husbands mistress, who unbeknown to him is a witch. The mistress then marries the husband and once a week goes to visit the dead x wife’s grave and over it conjures spells to keep her young and beautiful.. the dead wife becomes friends with Death and comes back to haunt the mistress, to terrify her and drive her mad until her soul is slowly sucked out and is eventually taken by deaths grips….. So see if you can follow the story woo!
We had tons of people collaborate on this shoot and style it etc. It turned out completely different from what I originally was thinking in my head but after shooting and editing the pics I was blown away by how much I loved it. Thank you so much everyone!!!! Insane amounts of talent you all have.
